Diving Into History

If you could only visit one place in Kos, and had only six hours to spare, it would be Agios Stefanos, where nature and history are one.

Swim: Τhe beach in Kefalos Bay –endless, sandy and spotlessly clean, shallow, crystal clear and safe– famous and photogenic. In short, it’s perfect for families and couples who fancy a day by the sea.

Wander: 5th and 6th century remains of Christian churches – a stroll through history just metres from the surf. Remains of columns, mosaics and standing masonry speak of an ancient tragedy – a theatrical setting framed by the Aegean. The stage is yours!

Escape: Kastri, an islet in Kefalos Bay. The little, blue-domed church visible from shore is dedicated to Saint Nicholas, patron saint of sailors. You can swim there, too!
